from Committee Co-Chair Jeff DeCaro
The Williston-Northampton Class of ’73 is a unique group of people who are now (gasp!) in their 50s, some of whom have recently retired and are actually enjoying their retirement. Some of us are anxiously waiting for children to get into, or graduate from, college while others are attending their children’s weddings, and some are even thinking about grandchildren. This is where we are as a group at the moment...which seems like a far cry from those innocent days in the early 70s when we protested against the war and thought that anyone wearing a suit or a tie was part of the dreaded “establishment.” read more
Our Mission
Friends of WNS 73 has been established to foster an environment of connectivity among our classmates with the mission of sharing life experiences and reconnecting with our past and our school. Our goals include raising money for a school memorial in honor of our fallen classmates, and creating a college fund for Eddie Meyer’s son, Jessie.

This Picasa slide show documents, informally, the weekend we gathered at the Class of 1974 Reunion, one year after our own 35th reunion. At some point we'll add a more detailed write-up. In the meantime:
• Mid-afternoon Saturday: arrival and gathering at the new "signature canopy" contributed by Penny Molyneux (née Dodds).
• Late afternoon: to Williston Chapel for memorial service remembering those of every class who have passed. beautiful music, poignant moments, tears.
• Immediately afterward: our own service for Eddie (many others also remembered) outside the chapel.
• Dinner at Nini's, downtown Easthampton (walking distance): generously hosted by Jack Tatelman.
• Back at the canopy: dancing, partying, hanging out (our class and other classes).
• Next morning: breakfast at Ford cafeteria. photos and goodbyes on the quad.
Want to put names with the faces? Click through to the Picasa photo album and you'll find that mousing over individuals reveals their names.

an update from Jack Tatelman
Jessie Meyer’s Bar Mitzvah, September 25, 2010
This was a very important event for Eddie and of course for Jessie. As you’d expect, the weekend was an emotional roller coaster, but a joyous celebration nonetheless.
Eddie’s spirit was all around us, evoked through name, pictures, stories and memories. Henry Simkin attended along with Jeff DeCaro. Henry, Debbie and I went to Eddie’s grave to pay our respects and say a prayer.
Jessie did great. He looks like a mini Eddie with that smile of his and he wore his father’s tie in his memory. Jessie is definitely the rock in the family, and there’s no doubt he made (makes) his father proud. So, there was lots of positive energy and sharing around Eddie’s memory.
As we say in Judaism “May his name become a memory” and I believe in this case it has.
Blessings,
Jack
